Food plan update

As you remeber in this post I told you about some changes in my diet. I don't call it a diet, because it is not a diet. It is more of a food plan that helps me eat healthy and enough good foods to stay strong and build muscle. When I have told people about this, their first reaction is negative, because they think I am on a diet to loose weight. Most people say Im too skinny to be on a diet, but when I tell them what it really is, then they understand a bit better.

In this post will give you an update on my feelings about the changes in my eating.

So now I have been following my food plan for five weeks. Twice I have allowed my self to eat something that does not belong to the plan, and each time I have gotten stomach pain...

At first, when I started the plan I thought the amount of food was so much. I was eating all the time and constantly buying loads of bananas and carrots. But in a few days my body started adapting to the changes, and the amount of food did not feel that much anymore. Now it feels like I get exactly the right amount of food that my body needs. The food plan is flexible in a sense that I don't have to eat the same things every day. It is easy to make the same food in a different way, just by changing the spices for instance.

The only difficulties I have had with the plan is that I feel like I am cooking all the time :D Also changes in my daily routines might change the order of what I eat.

Over all I have been feeling very good. It is easy not to have to plan what food to make today, since it is all given in the plan. I also only buy what I need, and leave all extra crap in the grocery shop.

Suuremmat muutokset ulkonäöllisesti tapahtuu varmaan vasta muutaman kuukauden kuluttua :)

Ruokavalio on tilattu Lindalta :)

Even though I feel good with this food plan, I think it will take time to start to see any bigger changes. This is only five weeks, so maybe in two moths there will be bigger visible changes.

Anyhow, I will be continuing the diet as it is, just because it is easy and I feel good.

The food plan is ordered from Linda :)

Food changes

I told you before how I am going to do some changes in my diet. So here comes.

I have always been fairly healthy, without being too tough on my self. I have been eating regular food, and allowed myself to have some treats when I feel like it, mostly in the weekends. I like to try new healthier things, and I try not to eat so much sugar. I also like to take vitamins and try superfoods that can improve and maintain a good health.

I needed some kind of structure in my diet in order to gain more muscle strength and get even healthier. So I contacted Linda, who's blog I have been reading for many years. She is a personal trainer, and she seems like a very determined person. She is also a very inspirational fitness person. I asked Linda to make me a food plan according to my needs and goals. So today it starts, the new food plan! (I don't want to call it diet, since I get to eat A LOT of food and will definitely not be starving). The food plan has almost no dairy products, so I will be looking forward to how my body reacts to that.

Here is the starting point, not training since christmas. In the last picture you also see the vitamins I take every morning: Vitamin-D, Zink, Omega-3 fish liver oil, apple cider vinegar and pure aloe vera.

Perry

I don't eat pears often enough. They are sweet, nutritious and healthy, and contain loads of vitamins. Oats are very versatile, and even this recipe consist of oats.

2 small or 1 big pear
1 dl oats
grated coconut
cinnamon
1 tbsp cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil
greek or turkish yoghourt on the side

Peel and chop the pears. Melt the coconut oil so that it is runny. Mix it with the oats, grated coconut and cinnamon. The grated coconut does not really taste in the crumble, but it gives it a bit of a crunch. Place the crumble evenly on the pears and microwave for about 3 minutes.

On the side always my favourite, yoghourt mixed with grated coconut.

Today I received my order from iHerb. I order all my vitamins from there.  They have organic quality products, and most of the products have reviews written on them, so it is easy to compare products. They have everything from supplements and vitamins to foods and creams. I have ordered coconut oil from there as well. The only bad thing is that your purchase has to be under 20€ if you don't want to pay taxes and customs.

This time I wanted to try this organic vanilla extract. Cheap and good quality. I will most likely put it in everything I eat! Yummy!

Last but not least. Here are some pics from the Yoga festival I went to yesterday. I tried two different classes, Scaravelli yoga. It was very stretchy and easy, more close to meditation. No sweat in that one. The other was Vijnana yoga, double the sweat in that one :)

Morning routine

Every morning I start my day with this simple health drink: MSM supplement and half a juice of lemon. Here is some information about MSM borrowed from THIS webpage. With this I stay healthy!

Biologically active sulfur is one of the most critical nutrients for our bodies to remain youthful and energetic.  As we age, along with a diet deficient in essential nutrients, our bodies become stiff, our cells become rigid, and our overall energy begins to rapidly decelerate.
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulfur compound that’s naturally derived during the earth’s rain cycle.  Sulfur is present in many natural unprocessed foods, but it’s quickly lost during the cooking process.  MSM is gaining a lot of attention due to the recent focus on longevity and anti-aging technologies.  Here’s a list of 7 impressive benefits that MSM delivers:
1. Improves skin health and complexion
MSM is necessary for collagen production.  Sagging skin and wrinkles, as well as dry, cracked skin are all developed through a loss of collagen.  MSM works together with Vitamin C to build new, healthy tissues.  MSM can normalize collagen formation and radically improve skin health.
2. Improves flexibility
Research has shown that MSM is highly effective in improving joint flexibility.  Additionally, it helps to produce flexible skin and muscle tissue.  This leads to an increase in overall flexibility due to a restoration of the “juiciness” in the tissues.
3. Detoxifies the body
One of the most important features of MSM is that it makes your cells more permeable.  This means that it allows toxins and metabolic waste products to easily be moved out of the cells, while essential nutrients and hydration can be moved in.  It’s a calcium phosphate dissolver, so it has a remarkable ability to break up the bad calcium that’s at the root of degenerative diseases.
4. Strengthens hair and nails
Collagen and keratin and both critical for the production of healthy hair and nails.  MSM is a bonafide “beauty mineral” that provides the sulfur needed to produce collagen and keratin.  It’s also highly noted to contribute to exceptional strength and thickness of the hair and nails, which can be noticed in just a couple weeks of consistent use.
5. Accelerates healing
Lactic acid and other byproducts cause pain and soreness in the body.  MSM increases the ability of the body to eliminate waste products at the cellular level.  This speeds recovery and frees up more energy for rebuilding.
6. Naturally Increases energy
Due to the increased permeability of the cells, less energy is required to deal with the accumulation of toxins.  This results in more energy being redirected towards activity and necessary healing.  Digestion is the biggest energy requirement of the body (Approximately 70-80% of your energy is spent on digestion each day). MSM increases the absorption of nutrients so that the energy expenditure on digestion is vastly reduced.
7. Anti-inflammatory
MSM is a powerful anti-inflammatory due to its ability to allow metabolic wastes to be removed from the cells.  Excess weight on the body is actually inflammation.  The cells of the body are chronically inflamed and retaining the byproducts of metabolic processes.  Sulfur needs to be present In order for these toxins and wastes to be removed from the body.  When these byproducts can be removed from the system, then the cells can also dispose of excess fluids that were being stored as a buffer.  What results is a natural and effective reduction in unwanted weight.

2 years ago I used to have bad flu's about 3-4 times a year. After starting using MSM I haven't had any bad flu's or colds. The body absorbs MSM best with C-vitamin, that's why I drink it with freshly pressed lemon juice! The best MSM is the OptiMSM, which is the cleanest version of MSM.
